In Search Of: Dystopia. Big Bad Collars.

for more pictures and the story of this photo shoot:

When you live in the desert, the thought comes to your mind often.
It is a another thing to make it real.

My buddy Gail let me play with her camera talents one day when I got to drag her (AND SEVERAL SQUIRMING CHILDREN) on one of my wild goose chases. (BUT ONLY IF I PROMISED TO NOT PASSENGER SEAT DRIVE SO MUCH THIS TIME) I was determined to find a dead sea.
(I ALSO WANTED TO SEE IF I COULD MAKE A TEA KETTLE BOIL ON THE DESERT SAND...)

And we did.

(JUST DON'T TELL GAIL'S HUSBAND JUST HOW "ALL TERRAIN" THE MINI VAN IS.)

I honestly can say I have hiked every corner of this state.  Deuce (MY as he would say "long suffering" HUSBAND) and I have been to every ghost town.

Dark on the Wilcox Playa was one of the creepiest places I have ever been.

(OH AND GAIL FORGOT TO MENTION "STAY NORTH OF THE TRAIN TRACKS TO AVOID THE LIVE AMMUNITION" FROM THE AIR FORCE TRAINING IN WWII)

One Last Sleepover :-(

All the puppies have chosen their homes.  sniff.  The girls wanted to have one last sleepover with Wrinkles and Spot before they packed their puppy college bags and headed out.  The nest is empty.
  WAAAAAAAAA!!!

Red Tibetan Mastiff "Big Splash" Is World's Most Expensive Dog

Inane or Insane?  You choose.

Yes I will pay top dollar for my dog...but even I have limits.  One of the richest men in the world at the turn of the century, James Douglas owner of the top copper producing mine, owned bulldogs for his kids.  Just average ol' farm dogs.

Speaking Coyote

TOSHI!  this one is dedicated to you.  A cartoon. :-) (Yoko said there was none to watch)
The catapult flipping over is my all time favorite scene!

Fukushima...in basic terms.

What is happening in Fukushima...in the most basic terms.  Although the headlines are alarming, please don't forget those displaced by the earthquake and tidal wave.

Talking Dogs - Want My Mama

Shout out to Yoko and Toshi!    Silly and Inane things with no purpose other than to make you laugh.

Love you both!

I understood mentally what has happened in Japan, but it is not the same as seeing it.  It makes you feel very frail.  And very fortunate.
