I understood mentally what has happened in Japan, but it is not the same as seeing it.  It makes you feel very frail.  And very fortunate.

It's official:  Patch and Meepers have chosen their familes!  My sister in law Courtney had to listen to me nearly work myself into tears over the thought of them leaving.  It will be a few weeks still...but I don't want it to happen at all. Sniff...

I took a picture of some tracks in the snow that I couldn't identify to show my brother recently.

(Okay really the tracks scared the holy-begeezus out of me: they were huge!  After closer examination I did rule out Big Foot, Side-hill galaghers, and even Jack-a-lopes...the benefits of big brothers:  many childhood fears!)

He advised me to next time put a dollar or something else beside to show perspective.

 (Okay really I think they were just bunny tracks...the back paws overlapping the fore paws...but still scared the begeezus out of me at first...)
